“Management” department was formed in 2002 as a result of the division of the “Marketing” department into two independent departments: “Management” and “Marketing”.
1994 year – opening of specialties 07.02 – “Economics and management”; 07.05 – “Marketing and commerce” (training of specialists in Kazakh and Russian languages);
1997 year – opening of the specialty 07.04 – “State and local administration”;
1997 year – 25th anniversary of the department;
1998 year – change of codes of specialties: 09.02 – “Management (in the social sphere and industries)”, 09.05 – “Marketing and commerce”;
1999 year – opening of the specialty 09.15 – “Human resource management”;
2000 year – opening of the specialty 07.12 – “Economics and management at enterprises”.
Currently, the department has two specialties: 5В050700 – “Management”, 5В051000 – “State and local administration.”
Since 1994, by the Marketing department, and from 2002 to 2019 by the Management Department was headed by R.S. Karenov – Doctor of economic sciences, Honorary worker of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, academician of the International Academy of Informatization, Academician of the International Academy of science and practice of Organization of Production, professor, holder of the State grant “The Best University Teacher of 2006”, author of more than 1400 scientific and literary works, including 64 monographs, textbooks and teaching books, analytical reviews.
Currently, at the department the training of specialists is carried out in 2 undergraduate specialties: “6В04102 – Management”, “6В04102 – State and local administration”, in 2 specialties of the master’s degree in scientific and pedagogical direction “7М04107201 – Management”, “7М04107101 – State and local administration”and in 2 specialties of the master’s program.
By the decision of the accreditation commission of the Institute of accreditation, certification and quality assurance ACQUIN (Germany) dated December 2, 2014, the educational programs of the Karaganda state university named after academician Y.A. Buketov “Management (bachelor’s degree)” received an international accreditation.
By the decision of the accreditation commission of the “Independent Agency for quality assurance in education” dated June 10, 2019, the educational programs of the the Karaganda state university named after academician Y.A. Buketov “5B051100 – State and local administration (bachelor’s degree)” and a magistracy in the specialty “6M050700 – Management”, “6M051100 – State and local administration” issued a Certificate of specialized accreditation.
For the recognition of higher education qualifications, the harmonization of periods of studying and previous studies, including the recognition of non-formal and informal studies, international cooperation is carried out at the university, which is based on the main directions of development of the higher education system and envisaging the implementation of the Bologna declaration. Teachers of the Management Department have the opportunity to receive advice on their scientific topics from leading foreign researchers (professor Almaz Tolumbek, professor J. Danek and others).
International cooperation activities are carried out as part of activities aimed at facilitating the participation of students, faculty and staff in international programs, and is carried out in partnership with organizations such as InterkulturelleWeiterbildungsgesellschafte.V. (Germany, Dusseldorf), Charles University (Czech Republic, Prague), Moscow state university of technology and management (Russia, Moscow), Vyatka state university for the Humanities (Russia, Kirov) and other leading universities near and far abroad: Omsk state university named after F.M. Dostaevsky.

Implementation of scientific researches in the framework of participation in international programs: for example, the programs of the European commission for Education and Culture Tempus and ErasmusMundus.

Teachers and graduate students of the department took part in seminars within the framework of the “Visiting Professor” program and attended lecture courses of professors from the USA, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Czech Republic, and Canada.
Actively used such a teaching method as guest lectures. So, over the past 5 years, the following foreign scientists have been invited:

The main goal of the department research activity is to develop and support scientific researches as the basis for the fundamentalization of education, as the basis for the training of skilled workers in accordance with the needs of the state and society.
The main tasks in the field of scientific research include:
- the development of science and creative activities of faculty and students;
- priority development of basic research as the basis for the creation of new knowledge, the development of new technologies;
- strengthening the influence of science on the solution of educational and educational problems;
- effective using of the scientific and technical potential of higher education to solve priority problems;
- expansion of international scientific cooperation with the aim to integrate with the global system of science and education and to obtain joint scientific results.
The scientific activity of the department corresponds to the strategic plan of KarSU until 2019.
In the framework of the Strategic plan of the University of the department from 2011 to 2018, scientific work was carried out on the topic: “New ideas and concepts of modern management” is planning to introduce into the educational process.
The strategy in the research field is determined by the ability of the department to successfully solve topical and complex/interdisciplinary tasks for science, to obtain innovative results that are in demand by modern society.

Active scientific work is carried out by experienced teachers candidate of economic sciences, docent Mambetova S.Sh., candidate of economic sciences, docent, Yerzhanova S.K., candidate of economic sciences, docent, Kazbekov T.B., master of economic sciences, senior teacher Yeskerova Z.A., master of economic sciences, senior teacher Akhmetova A.S. Over the past six years, the total number of publications by young scientists has amounted to 550 scientific articles with a total volume of 260.8 p.p. In particular, 12 scientific articles were published in foreign journals, 18 of which were published in journals with impact factor based on the RSCI. IF – 0.187. In the journals recommended by KKSON 61 articles were published with a total volume of 40.5 p.p.

During the reporting period, 1 monograph “Life devoted to science and native people to the 75th anniversary” was published in russian, 1 biographical reference book “50 classics of economics and management in the past and present” in russian, 2 study guide “Zhobalardy baskaru” in kazakh, and “Risk management” in Russian, 3 electronic textbook “Information Management” in Russian, “Strategic management” in English, “Theory and practice of management” in Kazakh.
Currently, the collective is working on the initiative topic “New ideas and concepts of modern management.” There are no scientific topics financed from the state budget and on a contractual basis at the department
The results of the scientific work of the teachers of the department are published in monographs, collections of scientific papers, scientific articles, abstracts, analytical reviews, which determines the research activity, the quality of the educational services provided at the graduating department.
100% of undergraduates are involved in the research work of the department as part of the master’s research and publication of scientific publications.
The research activity of the department fully complies with the requirements of GOSO RK 5.03.011-2006 and is carried out in accordance with the internal regulation of the university “Management of students’ research activities”. A significant drawback of the research work of the department is the lack of grant and contractual projects.
The educative work of the Management department of is carried out in accordance with the educational plan of the department and individual work plans of the curators.
For the period 2019-2020 educative work at the department:
On October 1, in honor of the Day of older persons, 1-3 year students and curators visited a nursing home with a charitable, educational purpose.
18.03.2019 year. Nauryz holiday was celebrated as a competition among students of the department. The Management department set the table with national dishes, dressed in national style and promoted the use of ancient Kazakhs. Students get the opportunity to communicate, strengthen friendship between courses.
20.03.2019 year organized by the economics faculty and law, all teachers and students received the Grand-prix.
For self-realization of the personality of students in various fields of activity at KarSU named after Y.A. Buketov there are various circles in the Students culture Palace. In order to provide social services to students, the university has created the appropriate conditions, there are comfortable hostels, a sanatorium, a student household complex.
At the economics faculty, is working a student youth organization called the “Committee on Youth Affairs.”
In the reporting period, students of the department actively interacted with KDM in organizing such events as “Initiation into Students”, “Students’ Day”, “Last Call”.
In the first half of the 2018-2019 academic year, 1st year students took an active part in the work of the student parliament and debate club.
All curators of the department keep working journals where there is information about students (demographic data, information about parents, residential addresses of visiting students). The plan considers: educational work; cultural work; social work; the development of mass sports and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle; University events dedicated to significant dates and events.
In September 2019, meetings were held between students of the MN-11, MN-12 and GMU-11, GMU-12 groups with the dean, department head and curators. At the meetings, questions on credit technology of education, on the creative and cultural life of students were clarified. Curatorial hours devoted to the Day of knowledge were held, where group wardens were selected and a curatorial hour was held on the topic: “Rights and obligations of university students. First-year students with curators visited the history museum of KarSU named after Y.A. Buketov from 01.10 to 10.10.2019 year.
Teachers of the department are curators of 15 groups. Group curators monitored attendance and academic performance: curator hours were held based on the results of examination sessions. 09.12.2019 in the event “Advocacy and clarification of the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev” Kazakhstan’s path – 2050″: A common goal, common interests, common future” actively participated students from all groups of the Department of Management.
Diverse cultural events are held: public holidays (“Kosh Keldіn, Nauryz”), contests (“Zhas Talap” – “Young talent” and “Initiation to students”, “Miss and Mr. University”, “Zhastar Kuenderi”, “Student of the year ”,“ The best student group of KarSU ”,“ Sultandar sayysmen men arular sons ”, festivals (the festival“ We are one diligent, one people ”dedicated to the Festival of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, KVN in two languages, vocal skill contest, military-patriotic song contest) , concerts to significant dates (“Day is know’,“ Teacher’s Day ”,“ Seniors Day ”,“ Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan ”,“ March 8 ”,“ May 7 – Batyr Day ”,“ May 9 – Victory Day ”, Alumni Forum), festive performances and performances, Anniversary evenings. As part of the action plan of KSU named after Academician Y.A. Buketov to celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, curatorial hours were held from November to December 2018 on the theme: “Independent Kazakhstan: history, present, future.” December 14, 2018 year teaching staff of the department and students were invited to a solemn festive event dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The teaching staff of the “Management” Department on schedule carried out duty on the main building and in the hostel № 3.
The university has a modern sports base, which includes sports and gyms, a shooting range, an international standard swimming pool, a ridge and ski base, and a sports field for playing futsal. Developed sports infrastructure allows you to fully develop sports and attract a wide student audience in mass sports.
Our students annually take part in winter and summer Universiades among university students in Kazakhstan. Every year, events are organized as part of the Healthy Universities project, the Republican campaign “Health Festival”, and the campaign “Young People Choose Healthy Lifestyle!”.
Spartakiads are held annually among students in 16 sports. Various sports and health sections work on a free basis.
Students of our department participate in the organization for improvement and landscaping of the territory adjacent to the academic buildings and hostels of the university, participate in events on «Clean Thursday».
